We are back!! We have returned after the international break, and typically, this means assessing the damage in terms of players we may lose due to injuries. Currently, Mikel Arteta is dealing with numerous injuries, some of which began before the international break. Players affected include Bukayo Saka, Declan Rice, Riccardo Calafiori, Ben White, Leandro Trossard, and Takehiro Tomiyasu. While I genuinely believe both Rice and Saka will feature (though I may be delusional), I’m currently unsure about Trossard’s situation. However, the shocking news from the break is that Ben White has undergone minor surgery, which could potentially keep him out for up to 12 weeks. It’s hard to deny it – we’ve truly been dealt a rough hand from the very start of the season. Mikel Arteta and this squad will need to show resilience and put together a strong run to get things back on track.
To compound matters, we host an inspired Nottingham Forest team at the Emirates, led by in-form striker Chris Wood. Forest are having a great season so far, tied on points with Arsenal, and they boast the second-best defense in the league, behind only Liverpool. I believe this will be a tricky contest, but we are a desperate team at home, and I expect us to secure the three points.
