We are approaching 9 games into the Premier League season, and somehow this feels like a pivotal moment in Arsenal's season (go figure). On October 27, at the Emirates Stadium, Arsenal will face Liverpool in what many are describing as a must-win for Arsenal after dropping points last weekend. This game should be a great match for neutrals, featuring two heavyweights with title aspirations going up against each other. Personally, I must say I am neither very confident nor feeling inferior going into this game.
My main point of concern is that the Arsenal squad is currently riddled with injuries and missing a key figure in Saliba due to suspension. Quite frankly, I have been going back and forth on what the squad should look like, but I am going to make this statement: I genuinely believe that Ethan Nwaneri should either start or play a significant amount of time in this game, at the very least. I think we are simply lacking a bit of creativity in the center of the field due to injuries, and we really need him. I am not going to overcomplicate this; I know he is a young player, but I grew up in my formative years watching a 16-year-old Cesc Fabregas step up in a role he quite frankly had no business stepping up to. It’s not unheard of, and I have enjoyed what I’ve seen from the games he has featured in.
Liverpool will have their typical danger men in Salah and Luis Diaz, and it will be a huge task to keep them quiet for 90 minutes. I suspect there will be times in the game when we will need to weather the storm, but I really believe we can. Punishing them on the other end is my biggest fear, and we quite frankly need a big game in front of goal from Kai Havertz.
Prediction: 2-1 to Arsenal. Havertz double, McAllister consolation."
